In 1906, the company began with a focus on leather and hoof care. Since then, Schweizer-Effax GmbH has evolved and gained recognition with internationally renowned brands in various sports, including soccer, equestrian sports, skiing, and athletics. For over 80 years, the company has been a trusted partner in the specialist sports trade, fostering successful collaborations and innovative exchanges with numerous sports associations.
Since 2011, the Effol brand has been the official supplier of the DOKR, supporting Germany's top athletes with premium care products. Additionally, the Ref Foam free kick spray from Sport LAVIT has been used in German professional leagues since the 2015 season, establishing Schweizer-Effax as the official free kick spray supplier to the DFB.

1997
SCHWEIZER-EFFAX GmbH has been part of the Eimermacher Group since 1997. Over the years, the range has been expanded to include many more coat and hoof care products. Leather and textile care, as well as human cosmetics, complement the portfolio to this day and form the comprehensive range of the traditional company.
Since 1997, production has been carried out under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This is the highest international recognition in the field of pharmaceutical quality. All products are manufactured according to this standard.
1936
In 1936, Chemische Werke Schweizer & Co. GmbH (owner Mr. Schweizer) took over Chemische Fabrik Effax.
1909
On July 10, 1909, the company was renamed Chemische Fabrik Effax, August Spoerl & Co. GmbH. In 1913, the company headquarters were moved from Mannheim to Bensheim.
1906
The company was founded on January 18, 1906, as Chemische Industriegesellschaft mbH Mannheim and has been successful on the market for over 110 years. Even back then, the focus was on horse and leather care. Horses were kept as working animals at that time, and their hooves were heavily stressed by the asphalted roads. Effol's first product was a healing and hoof ointment, which was mainly bought by farmers. Farmers at that time depended on their livestock and working animals (mainly horses). Therefore, hoof care was of great importance to them.
